Of Beasts and Grace Book Review

Of Beasts and Grace

By Sam DaVinci

Succulent feline blood trickled down his chin onto his briskly panting chest. He caught his breath and turned in pursuit of the olfactory delicacy that beckoned. He had just clawed and devoured a saber toothed lion, now he will partake of his frolicking mate, whether she wants him or not. Then he is disturbed by a shrill sound. Peter Hammerman awakens and tries to recall -- something. He answers the call to a late night carpentry repair job at a mansion he has recently constructed. After his task is completed, he is overcome by a strong feeling that he has previously met one of the dinner guests, the regal but tipsy Deborah. And yes, they have met, not just in this lifetime, not just in this timeline, but over many millions of years and more. However these encounters were always disturbing and turbulent. This woman is dangerous, but Peter soon learns, so is he.

***MY HONEST REVIEW FOR OF BEASTS AND GRACE***

Peter and Deborah are soul mates, and have a love/hate relationship. But worse than that, is the fact that they both have lived many former lives, and in each one they were together with the same love/hate feelings.

This was a bit confusing at first, not knowing what was going on. It starts with caveman type humans, and the very next chapter goes to present day with Peter. I couldn’t figure how to link them. Then Peter keeps having these visions that didn’t make sense. It took a while for me to realize that they were past lives. I actually enjoyed reading about Peter’s younger years with his Gramps more than his and Deborah’s past lives. And the talking to the gods just lost me all together. I did like the way the author brought everything full circle though.

About the Author
